Compare and Contrast the book and the film versions of "The Road." Which did you like better? Why?

I personally liked the book better. I believe the book is better than the movie because the book in my opionion makes more sense. There is an order to the book that in the movie there isn't. You can understand what is happening to the father and the son more in the book than in the movie. In the movie there is a lot of events occuring at the different times. The different house scences appear too quick in the movie, whereas in the book they appear later in the story. I also did not like the amount of flashbacks that they gave in the movie. The first half of the movie is made of mostly flashbacks of his wife and at the end of the flashbacks, the movie does not even show what happens to her, she just walks away from the family. In the book the wife comes up in about only two chapters of the book and they tells us that she kills herself. I know it was movie and that it can't come out exactly like the book but I would of liked a little more order or sequence of events.

Better Future

ORLANDO, Fla. - "Discipline, accountability and goals are the three things people look for when they come to our company," said Shaun Spaid, a financial advisor for Ameriprise Financial Services.

On Nov. 14, Ameriprise Financial Services gave a presentation on "New Perspectives for Your Financial Future," in the Southwest Branch of the Orange County Library System.

During the presentation, Spaid spoke about how to find a safe place for your savings, determine the best options for your 401 (k), identify new strategies to save for retirement, choose a college savings plan or finance a college education, and when to take social security.

"You have to ask yourself what problems might occur in the future?" said Spaid, "and how are you planning for them now?"

This presentation was done to provide educational help on how to properly manage your future financially, it was not a persuasive presentation to get more costumers for their financial services company, it was more of an informative presentation of how to better your future.

"These presentations are done to give back to the communtiy as an educational standpoint,"said Spaid, "if they want to follow up they are welcomed."

Most of the people that attended the presention came for financial advice and to find out how to better manage their future.

"I attended this presentation because I needed to know some information about how to handle my future financially," Said Nora Hall, "so I came to look for help to the one place where I know I can find credible information, the library."

Others came to the presentation because they had to.

"I attended because my mom came and I had to," said Linda Hall, " but it was more than I expected, I actually learn a lot of valuable things that are going to help my future and my mom's future."

Ameripirse Financial Services, Inc. offers financial advisory services, securities, insurance, annuities, and other investments. There will be another presentation of this kind on Thursday Dec.10, all hosted by personal advisors of Ameriprise Financial Inc.

What percentage of your televison viewing is spent watching BROADCAST NETWORKS- ABC, CBS, Fox, NBC and WB- versus CABLE/SATELLITE CHANNELS? What are your favorite types of programing on broadcast? What are your favorite types of programming on cable/satellite?
I spent most of my television viewing time watching cable/ satellite channels. I like watching sports, so most of the time I am on the ESPN channels. I watch both ESPN and ESPN 2. When I am not watching ESPN, I am either on the MTV channel watching shows like "America's Best Dance Crew" or "The Real Word" or in the Comedy Central channel watching shows like "Futurama". I only watch BroadCast Networks if there is a big sports event on one of those networks. Like if there is a good sunday night football game, I might turn the channel to NBC, or if I want to see a sunday afternoon Jacksonville Jaguar game I will put the channel on CBS or on saturday nights I might change the channel to ABC to watch the best college football game of the week.
My favorite types of programing on Broadcast are sports events, from MLB on Fox to Sunday Night Football on NBC to sunday afternoon football games on CBS and Fox to saturday night College Footbal on ABC to the NBA on ABC.
My favorite type of programing on cable/satallite would have to be SportsCenter on ESPN. I watch Sport Center everyday. I also watch other programing from ESPN, like ESPN First Take, E60, Around the horn and PTI. Besides ESPN I also watch the networks Sun Sports and FSN Florida because these are the networks that give me the Orlando Magic Games and the Tampa Bay Rays games. Besides the sports networks I also watch the networks TNT, TBS and USA for the movies that they give on the weekends.
